When you share your location with someone using our app, your data is encrypted on your device before it is sent. This means that only you and the intended recipient(s) can decrypt and view the location information. Not even the app’s servers or any intermediaries involved in transmitting the data can access the content.
The Matrix protocol utilizes the Olm and Megolm cryptographic libraries, which are designed specifically to handle the complexities of E2EE in decentralized communication. This encryption standard guarantees that each message, including your location data, is individually encrypted and can only be read by the intended parties.
